The Appalachian Dulcimer

Local performer Lorraine Lee Hammond talks about the history, construction, and playing technique of the fretted zither called the Appalachian dulcimer. She demonstrates instruments from her own collection, as well as two historical examples belonging to the Museum, including one by legendary maker John Edward Thomas, of Bath, Kentucky, made in 1913.
